one skein of Black Bunny Fibers handpainted sock yarn: my Superwash Merino Classic (Delft, a semisolid in rich cobalt blue; 400 yards of fingering weight superwash 100% merino wool ) & one copy of the Emmett sock knitting pattern (PDF or hard copy, your choice).

that blue is simply gorgeous! I've tried knitting/crocheting before but because I wasn't awesome at it the first time, I never followed through with it. However, sewing and having kids has definitely helped with the patience issues, and I think that this would be some great stuff to start with :)

The knitter in my family is UniDD and she does the best socks and that blue is just her colour so if I win this it will be packed off to her as she's waking to mornings of below 0 degree temps (Celcius) in her part of Australia!

I would love to have the fabric and book .I want to learn to knit socks.
My boys got me some knitting needles for Christmas and I tried that day and I just couldn't get the basics down!!! Switching the stitches to the other needle!! Do you have any good advice as to where I can learn??? And how hard is this sock pattern????? I have always wanted to learn how to knit ! I crochet and so everything feels sooo foriegn
